Today I want to talk about STRIPES!
On Friday, we posted our first Fashion Blog, featuring a Missoni ad. The brand is famous for their expressive, colorful stripes and chevrons. In addition to making a cool fashion statement, stripes are a great way to bring together multiple colors.
I love using a striped interior element in areas where different colors come together and need to be connected, such as, in a foyer or hallway, where adjacent rooms each display their own color palette. A custom designed runner, as shown here in the entrance of a Glen Ridge Tudor home, allows me, as an interior designer, to bring the colors of the living, dining and mud room together. It also creates a statement, it dares you to show your true colors, and transforms your hallway into a personal calling or business card. You can have your favorite colors greet you and your visitors, right at the front door!
