With the long 4th of July holiday weekend behind and most of the summer still ahead of us, America is intrigued by the concept of “Easy Living”.
Ads for outdoor furniture as well as recipes for easy, fast summer cooking are all about enjoying this time of year.
It seems to go back to childhood, when 10 weeks of no school held the promise of freedom.
I suggest to bring this promise of freedom and easy living into your home; make it the base of your home’s interior.
Here are some of the bullet points to work on:
* Un-clutter – it really creates a feeling of freedom & lightness
* Easy flow furniture placement rather an obstacle course. Pay attention to what is in your way and remove it.
* Light and sunny colors in rooms you use during daytime, such as kitchen, hallways, family- & sun rooms (dah!)
* Connect to the outdoors. Whenever possible place French doors to allow for easy access to the patio. Just the suggestion of stepping out lifts the spirit.
